Working together for success

We are proud to be able to look back on
100 years of our company’s history.

The Friedrich Binder company was founded by the skilled chain maker, Friedrich Binder, in Mönsheim in March 1910. For more than half a century, jewellery chains were predominantly hand crafted and a variety of chains were produced as piece work for the neighbouring Pforzheim jewellery industry.

From the 1950s on, under the directorship of Ernst Binder, the company was able to carry out the entire manufacturing process from raw material to finished items of jewellery in house. As a result of its direct contacts to the wholesale trade, the company was in a position to cater for the requirements and wishes of its customers by providing faster delivery of market-oriented products.

As the 1960s dawned, the third generation of Klaus and Fritz Binder were among the first to react to the emerging trend towards the globalisation of markets. With the ambitions expansion of a high-tech production facility, the company was ready to meet the challenge of global entrepreneurship and become a leading edge corporation which today operates over a thousand specialised machines.

The nineties and the decade that followed were marked by the company’s successful ventures in positioning itself in the United States and in the Asian markets. Today, Binder FBM exports to almost 50 markets around the globe. A further decisive stage in the company’s development took place under the leadership of Marcus Binder, who represents the fourth generation of the family. In less than a year, the takeover in 2009 of Germany’s leading manufacturer of ear hoops gains the company a key market position in this sector.

Today as much as ever we remain a reliable and trustworthy partner serving our customers worldwide and strengthening them as they face the challenges of the market.
